(Event) AFA Experience

Blame the lack of updates this past week as part of AFA withdrawal symptoms. It has been close to a week and a half since AFA. T-T It was a super fun time spent bouncing around the halls doing silly things like chasing after the mythical Milo girls while getting high on multiple cups of free coffee. Day Two was pretty much spent at the Stage area and queuing up for merchandise from the Festival area, while Day Three was rather a more relaxed time wandering around the Festival area and messing around the Culture Japan booth.  Didn’t really want to tote around my camera around much so I didn’t really take much photos. There were plenty of people already covering this event and I wasn’t about to hide behind my viewfinder for most of the day, hampering the real feel of the experience.

Nico Nico Douga plushies that was being sold at crazy high prices. This one is special and not for sale as it had been touched/signed by the lovely LiSA!!

The plushies came in three sizes, all awfully cute and squeezable.

They were so popular that almost all were sold by the end of the event.

This is Comrade Kodomut who is an evil manipulator of  anything inanimate and has joints. Even though he looks like he is manhandling poor DD Rina (who is cosplaying as Madoka’s Mami) , he is a genius at getting her to pose for him.

Thanks to my VIP ticket to Day 3′s I LOVE ANISONG concert, I got the chance to meet with the lovely songstresses from KALAFINA~! They are petite ladies with powerful vocals and it was fantastic being able to hear them perform live. DD They are a trio founded by composer Yuki Kajiura and I’m a big Yuki Kajiura fangirl (has been since I first heard the Mai-Hime OSTs).

Lastly, we have Big Boss Alafista giving a short talk on figgu photography. He moonlights as spokeperson for Canon and is passionate about all things AKB48, hence his daughter DD Mari is decked out a custom made AKB48 uniform that was the handiwork of his mom. Somehow, the DD owners in the WLNF circles have managed to convince their moms to join their habits too.
