There is barely a week left till I return to Singapore, ending my 20+ days of experiencing Japan. And my adventures have finally hit it’s peak with the start of Winter Comiket 2009 a.k.a C77, mecca for a fangirl like me. As the past few days have been too hectic for me to sit down and compose a decent blog post, I break my hiatus with some sneak peaks of the latest Good Smile Company has to offer:
First up is BLACK ROCK SHOOTER: Black Blade ver. Followed by the adorable Nendoroid incarnation of kick-ass Hatsune Miku in her BRS alter-ego.
Though she has not been painted yet, Nendo BRS looks to be a MUST-GET for fans out there.
As for the other Nendoroids to be released, here’s a look at K-On!- Azusa Nakano. Previous pics featured Azunyan unpainted so this is the first time we get to see her in colour!
And who is this cutie? Apparently, she is from Strike Witches- Francesca Lucchini. I really like her face. =D May add her to my collection, even though I have no inkling of what her character is like.
As for Figmas, there’s Touhou Project – Marisa Kirisame, whose Nendoroid version was up for grabs via the Bushi Road booth today.
There is also an impressive range of Petit Nendoroids marching into the new year. Here’s some samples from the Touhou Project.
And a chibified Saber!
As for Bakemonogatari, looks like there will be another set up featuring the other characters due to be released in the near future. I can’t wait to see what they look like fully-painted. =)
And here’s one last pic of Senjougahara to end this post. Hopefully I’ll find some time to collect my thoughts and sort through my pictures soon.
(There were other figures by GSC on display but I couldn’t get nice pics so I decided against posting them.)
AFA 09 wouldn’t have been the same without the delicious appearance of KANAME☆. While I have GB loads of pictures of the cosplayer hidden in my harddrive, I have just picked a few to share. If you happen to be in Tokyo, Ikebukuro, then you might want to consider visiting Royal Servant, the butler cafe that KANAME works at. =)
We first see KANAME in action as a judge for the AFA Regional Cosplay Championship 09 on Day 1.
On Day 2, KANAME has his own cosplay panel where he does a presentation on ‘cosplaying’.
One last post on AFA 09. =)
At the ungodly hour of 3am, I am compelled to share this series of breathtaking melodies from the Vocaloid family. I’m not entirely sure of the history of this song. It seems to have stemmed from a nico-nico video featuring sexy Vocaloids Hatsune Miku X Megurine Luka. The song itself seems to be about forbidden love between two people of the same sex. This particular video has spawned a dozen incarnations, pairing all the different Vocaloid characters (& more). I first noticed this whole “magnetic” craze when I saw this on Deviantart. But I didn’t realize the full extent of its awesomeness till I stumbled across a twit about the ‘boys-edition’ of this song.
Here’s the original video in HD:
The original with an English translation of the song:
The all-girls version:
AND THE EPIC ALL-BOYS CHORUS!!!
Be sure to read go to the original youtube page and read all the crazy comments that rabid fangirls left behind. ^^ Personally, I think the boys-edition of ‘Magnetic’ is the most sexxxxxxy.
Neuro: Wahaha… … There has been no mystery for me to feed on lately as my useless servant Yako has been slacking off. It’s time to teach her a lesson.
Today I went shopping and brought home something special for my Nendoroids. =)
Because I’m procrastinating, I’m going to do some belated photo blogging. =)
Starting with Natsu Matsuri 09. It was by sheer luck that I managed to get tickets from some dear twitter/lj friend of friends. And it allowed us to jump the queue and dive straight into the festivities.
This year’s event was blessed with clear skies and lovely weather! (A positive contrast to last year’s wet and dreary affair.) And because we could go in early, we managed to catch a glimpse of this awesome sky scape.
Somehow, I don’t seem to have luck with male Nendos. (My pre-orders always screw up with ze MEN.) With the disappointment of Itoshiki Nozomu and Sebastian, I decided that it was time to be proactive and go get myself a man.
… well, not exactly. Since Neuro is pretty much a demon or 悪魔 (akuma) and basically genderless. =D Ambiguity!! Like Yukito/Yue from Cardcaptor Sakura! (Though Yukito/Yue isn’t exactly a demon… rather a gender-clueless guardian of the Clow.)
The rest of my Nendo family voted and it was 5 vs 1 in favor of Neuro-sama. Why the landslide victory for Neuro aka Tori-san? Because our dear Yako, the terror of the Nendo family, is terrified of Tori-san who had made her his human slave in their Anime/Manga incarnation!
I made the above banner to make identifying Nendo-friends easier among the crowds at STGCC day #02. =) This design will be pasted on my lovely Nendo-carrier/travel case/luggage thing. So if you spot this just approach me and say “Hi!”. And now… onto a quick review of Day #01 of STGCC. (Some pictures were taken by Nyanko-sempai with his PnS, and some were taken with a D50 that had a psychotic Prime lens.)
